The theme of the conference is “Difference Not Disorder”, celebrating neurodiversity and promoting greater understanding of the diverse ways in which people think, learn and experience the world.

The conference will feature four guest speakers, each bringing valuable knowledge and perspectives on neurodiversity:

  • Karla McGuire – The Sensory System
  • Pauline Hunter – The Role of Primitive Reflexes
  • SinĂ©ad O’Toole – INPP School Intervention Programme
  • Emer Connolly – A Parent’s Perspective: Day-to-Day Living and Supporting Children with Neurodiversity

Tea, coffee and sandwiches will be provided during the event.

This is the first time the Donegal Education Support Centre has hosted a conference of this kind, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming educators, teachers, SNAs and all those interested in learning more about neurodiversity.

We hope the conference will provide an opportunity to share knowledge, exchange experiences and explore practical ways to better understand and support neurodivergent children.

Latest Surveys

  • Primary School Principal Survey for PhD Study at UCD - My name is Jet Klokgieters, and I am looking for Irish primary school principals who are interested in being interviewed for my PhD study at UCD. For my PhD, under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Farries and Dr. MichaĹ‚ Wieczorek, I am looking at factors that influence the uptake of Educational Technologies in primary schools. This study will contribute to scientific research and potential policy changes, and it might be insightful for your own decision-making process about Edtech uptake. If you are interested in being interviewed, if you know someone who might be interested in being interviewed, or if you would like to get more information about my PhD, please reach out to me at jet.klokgieters@ucdconnect.ie. Participation in my interviews will be highly appreciated!
