Cognitive Abilities Profile (CAP) Training - 4 Part Series (Online)

The course is training in the Cognitive Abilities Profile (CAP), a practical assessment and consultation framework based on Dynamic Assessment and cognitive/metacognitive approaches to learning.

In simple terms, it helps education professionals to:

• Identify a learner’s cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty across seven functional domains.
• Understand how a learner approaches tasks, rather than simply measuring what they can or cannot do.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other professionals to identify appropriate learning targets and interventions.
• Monitor progress over time and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

It is particularly relevant to Educational Psychologists, SENCOs, specialist teachers, therapists and other professionals supporting children with additional learning needs.

The course itself is delivered online through four 2.5 hour webinars, with preparation and follow-up activities.
