"Pause" Workshop for Primary School Principals with Joe McHugh
OverviewSchool leaders face increasing demands across administration, compliance, staffing, student and parent issues, SEN, planning and day-to-day school management.
This reflective workshop provides principals with a valuable opportunity to step back from these pressures, pause, and consider their role, wellbeing and leadership within the wider school system.
Through guided reflection, discussion and a systemic coaching approach, participants will explore new perspectives, strengthen self-awareness and gain greater clarity about where to focus their energy and attention.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between themselves, their leadership role and the wider school system.
- Reflect on personal wellbeing, energy management and leadership effectiveness.
- Distinguish between what is within their control, what they can influence and what they may need to let go.
- Recognise how past experiences, assumptions and established narratives can shape leadership practice and decision-making.
- Gain fresh perspectives and insights to support sustainable and effective school leadership.
