Overview
This 1-day face to face training for teachers builds on the eLearning course ‘Introducing a Trauma Informed Approach The Stress Factor Getting the Balance Right’. The aim of the training day is to guide teachers to understand the key elements of a trauma informed approach and focuses on implementation approaches at whole school, class and individual level. The training provides practical school-based strategies and approaches to promote safety and connection in school as priority needs for those who have experienced trauma and adversity.

WHO?                This event is suitable for Post Primary teachers*

*This training is open to DEIS and Non-DEIS school. A separate training event will be available for teachers working in schools participating in the DEIS Plus Initiative.

Expression of Interest NEPS - Understanding Trauma

The Expression of Interest should be completed jointly by two Teachers, one of whom is a member of the school leadership team. The closing date for Expressions of Interest is 18^th November 2026. Due to limited capacity, a maximum of two teachers per school may attend. Please note that submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee a place on the training.
