GVS - Creative Forest School Approaches: Practical Outdoor Learning for Global Citizenship Education
This interactive webinar introduces participants to the philosophy of Forest School as a child-centred,
experiential approach to learning that supports wellbeing, creativity and connection to nature. Grounded in
Global Citizenship Education (GCE), the session will explore how outdoor learning can foster empathy,
responsibility and environmental awareness among pupils through five practical and adaptable Forest School
activities. It focuses on low-cost, accessible approaches suited to a variety of school environments.
Global Village Schools (GVS)
Global Village is a Global Citizenship Education (GCE) programme for primary schools in Ireland. It aims to support primary school pupils to become active global citizens committed to building a fairer and more sustainable world. Engaging with teachers and school communities, Global Village is working to increase the reach, quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of GCE in primary schools. Global Village aims to do so through research, learning and establishing connections with key stakeholders in the GCE and Primary Education sectors.

The Global Village programme is funded by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs. Irish Aid is the Government’s overseas development programme which supports partners working in some of the world’s poorest countries. Irish Aid also supports global citizenship education in Ireland to encourage learning and public engagement with global issues.
